Research facilities face enormous regulatory challenges, many of which are dependent on good management of information. Too often that information is locked up in notebooks and filing cabinets that are not available to the sources that need it. Pristima™ VM was designed to address many of the regulatory challenges that facilities face by providing “one version of the truth and one place to find it”.
Many of the regulatory challenges in research are centered around Pristima™ VM, facility management staff can create sites, campuses, buildings, rooms and racks. Specialized rooms such as treatment rooms, surgical suites, and storage rooms can have special properties associated with them that allow for tracking of capital equipment and assets as well as managing stock supply levels of personal protective equipment, and other supplies used within the room.
Animal cage racks can be visually laid out on screen for each room, showing which cages are full or empty, where sentinel cages are located, and which cages belong to a specific research protocol or primary investigator. Important visual notifications can quickly be seen from information entered, such as the number of care days that have passed since the last cleaning, the number of animals in a cage, if the cage has animals that are close to giving birth or close to weaning, or any veterinary alerts that have been set by husbandry, research or veterinary staff.
Facility specific tasks can be set up with reminders and assigned to specific staff for events such as maintenance schedules on equipment. These can be added to a user’s home page for immediate viewing.
A variety of reports provide succinct information into the status of where animals are housed, where equipment is located, and the stock levels of supplies for the facility, providing management staff with a single source for critical information that otherwise requires hours of searching through notebooks, logbooks or multiple software programs to find.
