Steve Porfano

Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Steve joined Xybion in 1989 as Corporate Controller and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 1991.  As Chief Financial Officer, Steve is responsible for the establishment, enhancement, coordination and administration of the Company's financial systems, internal controls, and related areas.  Additionally, he is the corporate liaison to the Company’s bank, independent certified public accounting firm and governmental compliance and financial auditors. 

Steve had key roles in Xybion Corporation’s previous divestiture of the assets and operations of two of the company’s divisions to ITT Industries and Atlantic Microwave Corporation.  After these sales were completed, he supported the company’s board in its mission to transition Xybion from a predominantly U.S. Government R&D business to a commercial software business. In early 2008, Mr. Porfano worked with the company’s board to sell the stock of Xybion to its current owner, the Banerjee Group, LLC.  After the transition, he continued to serve as the company’s Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Porfano brings to Xybion a diversified financial and managerial background obtained through his employment in the public accounting field.  During the period September 1985 to February 1989, Mr. Porfano was a Senior Auditor with a regional certified public accounting firm.  During his tenure, Mr. Porfano was responsible for providing financial audit, management advisory and consulting services to commercial clients engaged in the performance of federal contracts and subcontracts with the Department of Defense and civilian activities.  Additionally, he had auditor-in-charge responsibilities for financial and compliance audit engagements and contract audits under service contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Information Agency.

Mr. Porfano earned a BA in Accounting and Business Administration from Rutgers University in May 1983.
