Bob joined  Xybion Medical Systems  in  1990 and has designed and developed substantial portions of the Pristima Suite of  products. He is responsible for coordinating the Technology Development activities across all line of businesses with Xybion Corporation. Originally a developer and manager on the VMS 4.2.2 system, he was a key member of the team that designed, developed, and deployed the Next Generation of Pristima suite. This included selecting and prototyping the architecture, reorganizing and retraining the development staff to work with new technologies and recruiting and training new staff as needed to meet the goals of his department.

 

In his career as a biomedical engineer, he has contributed to a number of commercial and research computer projects from Neurobiology to Biomechanics.  He has co-authored articles published in the Journal of Biomechanics and Neuroscience Abstracts as a result of this work. Mr. Friedman also shares a U.S. patent relating to expert systems in Orthopedics. In 1987, Mr. Friedman joined SYNTHES U.S.A., a manufacturer of Orthopedic Implants where he served as the primary developer of a knowledge-based system that gave advice on the treatment of Orthopedic Trauma, and of a clinical orthopedic trauma registry database system.

 

Bob holds a Master of Engineering Degree and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, New York) in 1984.  He attended the University on a “Rensselaer Science and Mathematics Medal Scholarship,” and he was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.  In 1998, Mr. Friedman completed the Oracle 8 Database Administration course taught by Oracle Corporation.
